For breakfast I had egg/cheese/potato on an everything bagel AND leftover cake. For dinner I had Chinese & a Reese’s Klondike bar. (And yes, I ate lunch in between both of those things.)

Birthday success! If you’re in need of a chocolate peanut butter cake or a custom light-up metal sign anytime soon, I highly recommend Sugar Sweet Sunshine Bakery on the LES & wlighting on eBay.

Pro tip #1: Dressing up makes you look 50% less hung over. (Pro tip #2: eating a giant bagel sandwich for breakfast and/or instagramming your hangover make it 100% more obvious that you’re hung over.) (Taken with instagram)

Too busy at the office to get to the gym; try the Shake Weight at work. While preparing for a presentation or deadline, why not also work on muscle toning?

Audio

  • fullcredit: The Decemberists, “July, July” Happy July, everyone! a) I knew you would post this today! I’m psychic. (Or, we’re both just decemberists fans. Either way.) b) I tried to listen to this at the gym this morning via youtube, but my phone was plugged into the charger on the elliptical, and then my phone showed some terrible message along the lines of “THE VIDEO IS PLAYING ON THE TV.” I looked up in horror at one of the big TVs, which now was displaying a USB error message instead of the news, or whatevs. (This made the girl on the treadmill behind me very grumpy.) c) Whenever this comes on at work I’m all, ‘hey guys, it’s my song, guys!!’ and they’re all, yeah, we know by now.

  • inothernews: homemadedarkmark: youmockus-sir: narcissas: thisisappalling | migscast: Just a Born This Way/Express Yourself mashup I made. ~I don’t own the copyrights to ‘Born This Way’ or ‘Express Yourself’~ Well, this is awkward. Soooo awkward. Uh-oh. …oops ALL MUSIC IS DERIVATIVE. Here’s proof? :-) Just now I guess I accidentally hit “play” on this post, and this song started *blaring* on my phone (I’m in the waiting room at the doctor’s office), and I promptly turned into a panicked and confused Grandma. “What is happening?! Is this my iPod?! No. Gah!!” Opening and closing Tumblr repeatedly didn’t work (and I think I’d already scrolled past the post, so I didn’t see a ‘pause’ button), so I turned the devil phone off. Instead of, you know, turning down the volume or plugging headphones in.I didn’t think it was possible to get any more flushed right now (I’m at fever city, pop. 102) but apparently it is.

  • caro: tuneage: Foo Fighters - “Everlong” A build up of chords, accompanied by some sick drumming and then enters David Grohl’s voice. This 1997 release is one of my all-time-favorite-songs, something I can always come back to. The Foo Fighters have a knack for making any song immediately sound familiar, like you’re always returning to a classic of your own music library. An awesome song with an awesome music video but the Foo Fighters aren’t anything without Grohl. This guy inspired a generation to want to be drummers (I find it cosmically unfair that he can rock out on the guitar, sing and play the drums like that). p.s. Yeah, yeah, I know people love the acoustic version but sorry, nothing beats those electric guitars. This is the only song I have ever sung at live-band karaoke. One of my top ten five three all-time faves. Actually, might go so far as to say that this and Interstate Love Song are both contenders for the #1 spot.
